World Breast Pumping Day
Breast pumping is an activity that requires a lot of effort, time, and dedication but is extremely important for the health of the child. Although not every woman can breastfeed, those who can often rely on breast pumping to feed their children.
Breast pumping can increase the amount of milk a woman produces and can be used to prepare bottles for when the mother isn’t physically present with the infant.
This is especially important for working mothers or mothers who leave the task of getting up with the child to the child’s father. The act of pumping is so important that a holiday was established on January 27th every year to celebrate it. This holiday is known as World Breast Pumping Day.
The History of World Breast Pumping Day
This holiday can be traced back to 2017 when it was created by Wendy Armbruster. She had invented one of the first hands-free pumping bras and decided to create this holiday to support a digital community where breast-pumping mothers could come together to support one another. Since the creation of this day, thousands of women have come together to share stories, support one another, and help each other out.
